Holiday baking season is here, and freezer-friendly cookies mean you can have delicious Christmas cookies ready all season long. Need something to take to a holiday party? Hosting dinner? Hosting a cookie exchange? (Then definitely don't miss our How to Host a Cookie Exchange Guide!) Just want a warm-from-the-oven cookie while you're cozied up in front of the fire on a chilly December night? Freezer-friendly Christmas cookies to the rescue!

Below are six crowd-pleasing freezer-to-oven cookies and a bonus baked treat to have ready for Christmas morning.

    1. Crisp Gingerbread Cookies

Use cookie cutters to make these Crisp Gingerbread Cookies in any shape. The flavor has just the right amount of spice and a subtle sweetness. They go great with chocolate so top them with mini M&Ms before baking or dip the finished cookies in hot cocoa.

To freeze: Slice dough into shapes and spread out on parchment-lined sheet pans. Freeze until dough is solid, about 4 hours. Transfer frozen dough to a freezer-safe bag. Freeze for up to 3 months. To bake, spread cookies out on a sheet pan. Bake as directed.

    2. Chocolate Peppermint Blossoms

Chocolate Peppermint Blossoms are a soft, chewy chocolate cookie topped with white peppermint candy kisses.

To freeze: Roll chocolate dough into balls and place on a sheet pan. Transfer sheet pan to the freezer. When dough balls are frozen solid (about 4 hours), transfer to a freezer-safe bag. Separately, you can peel the candy kisses and keep them in another freezer-safe bag. Freeze both the dough balls and the kisses for up to 3 months. Bake as directed.

    3.  Peanut Butter Cookie Cups

Soft peanut butter cookies filled with chocolate peanut butter cups – these are always a crowd favorite.

To freeze: Roll peanut butter dough into balls and place on a sheet pan. Transfer sheet pan to the freezer. When dough balls are frozen solid (about 4 hours), transfer to a freezer-safe bag. Separately, you can peel the peanut butter cups and keep them in another freezer-safe bag. Freeze both the dough balls and the peanut butter cups for up to 3 months. Bake as directed.

    4. Salted Caramel Stuffed Chocolate Cookies

These rich dark chocolate cookies are filled with Werther's soft caramels that stay super soft even after the cookies cool. Put a plate out and they’ll disappear fast (but only if you’re willing to share)!

To freeze: Roll dough into balls and place on a sheet pan. Transfer sheet pan to the freezer. When dough balls are frozen solid (about 4 hours), transfer to a freezer-safe bag. Freeze for up to 3 months. Bake directly from the freezer at 300°F for 15 to 17 minutes.

    5.  Chocolate Mint Pinwheel Cookies

Chocolate Mint Pinwheel Cookies are tender butter cookies with swirls of chocolate, vanilla, and mint dough. These are a slice-and-bake style cookie that you can slice thick for soft cookies or thin for more crispy cookies.

To freeze: Assemble dough as directed and roll into logs. Wrap logs tightly in plastic wrap and then foil. Freeze for up to 3 months. Defrost in the fridge or at room temperature until soft enough to slice (about 1 hour at room temperature). Bake as directed.

    6. Chippy Peanut Butter Cookies

These are the quintessential, crisp around the edges, soft in the middle cookies with peanut butter flavor and chocolate chips. If you don't bake them all at Christmas, they're great any time of year.

    7.  Cinnamon Star Bread

BONUS! This isn't a cookie, but it's a great holiday breakfast / brunch / potluck dish to have tucked away in the freezer. With layers of cinnamon sugar and a sweet glaze, this Cinnamon Star Bread is a festive alternative to classic cinnamon rolls and a favorite to serve on Christmas morning.

To freeze: Shape the star and allow it to do the final 20-minute rise. Transfer to the freezer. Once frozen solid, wrap it tightly and freeze for up to a month. 12 hours before baking, unwrap bread and place it on a parchment lined sheet pan. Defrost in the fridge for 12 hours. Brush with egg and transfer directly from the refrigerator to the heated oven. Add 4 to 8 additional minutes to baking time.
