Sweet and Spicy Candied Pecans
Crunchy, fragrant pecans are tossed in sugar and spices for this easy, crowd-pleasing recipe. These make a great snack to serve with cocktails or pack them up in jars to give as gifts.

- 3/4 cup White Sugar
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/8 tsp Ground Cardamom
- 1 pinch Cayenne (optional)
- 1 Egg White
- 1 lb Pecan Halves (about 4 cups)
Preheat oven to 250°F / 121°C.
Line a rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper.
In a small mixing bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, salt, ground ginger, ground cardamom, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl egg white with a hand mixer (or standing mixer) until very light and frothy, ~3 minutes. Gently fold pecans into egg whites until evenly coated.
Sprinkle sugar mixture over pecans and stir until pecans are evenly coated.
Spread pecans out on prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
Bake for 1 hour, stirring halfway through cooking, until sugar coating is crisp.
Let cool completely on the sheet pan and then use your hands to gently break pecans apart.
Store in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
